July 10th, 2019 marked the opening of the new Salvation Army Richmond House, a 36-bed Emergency Shelter designed to replace the outdated facility on Shell Road, which was only able to accommodate a small number of men.
Richmond House also offers three meals daily and access to critical support services, such as case management and referrals to community resources.
All of the new living space was designed intentionally, featuring separate areas for men and women in addition to a co-ed space and expansive private backyard with plenty of green space. Pets are welcome too, allowing people to access services without making the difficult decision to give up their animal in order to access services.
